Dear international students
You must have learnt from the media reports that the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus has occurred in China recently. Yunnan province launched the highest level (One Level) public health response on 24th January 2020. Yunnan provincial governmental departments are now taking active and decisive measures to prevent and control the epidemic of coronavirus in Yunnan. Kunming Medical University has also attached high importance to and made comprehensive deployment on the prevention of the spread of coronavirus in the university. On this special occasion, we sincerely hope that everything is going well with you, and we stand with solidarity and make efforts together to combat the virus. Hereby, we would like to make the following suggestions for you all.
If you are staying in Kunming now, please keep connection with your school and supervisors to report them your health condition every day. If you have symptoms such as fever（body temperature >37.3℃), cough, and breath with difficulty, please DO NOT move around and report to your school and supervisors immediately to get further help and support. If you have been Wuhan and other areas in Hubei province in the past weeks or contacted with people who were from epidemic areas of coronavirus, please actively and immediately report your journey and health condition to your school and supervisors and stay at your place and wait for further suggestions. In addition, keeping good personal hygiene by washing hands with soap or washing liquid regularly and keeping your living place clean are effective measures to prevent illness. It is also recommended wearing a surgical mask when going out. However, recently, you are highly suggested avoiding large crowd environment and unnecessary outdoor activities and making good use of the time to study so as to be well prepared for the oncoming semester.
If you have been back to your country and are staying at home now, please watch the epidemic of coronavirus in your place and take necessary preventive measures according to suggestions from local public health authorities. The most important thing is that please DO NOT come back until you receive the information of returning university from your school and supervisors.
