In order to enhance the management, to maintain the normal teaching and living orders, and to ensure students’ security as well as safety of properties, this regulation is developed according to Regulations of Student Management of General Institutes of Higher Education, Trial Regulations of Student Safety Education and Management of General Institutes of Higher Education, Method of Disposition of Student Injuries, and Regulations of Receiving International Students of General Institutes of Higher Education issue and published by China Ministry of Education. The Regulations shall be interpreted and implemented by the International Education School of Kunming Medical University.
Article 1 Students who are registered as full-time students and joining normal teaching activities shall get accommodation in the dormitory which is arranged by the school, living off the campus is prohibited by principle. Students who need to living off the campus due to special situations, shall submit a written application together with Application Form for Living off the Campus of International Education School, in which, it shall be included that the reasons, rental situations, owner data and contact information, specific address, and the promise of “I rent and live off the campus on my own, and I am responsible for my own safety and properties, which will have no relationship with Kunming Medical University”
Article 2 international students, who live off-campus change their accommodation address, shall report to the Section of Students’ Affairs in writing form in which all the contents of article 1 shall be included.
Article 3 International students who choose to accommodate off-campus shall complete procedures as follows: To write application himself (with signature) => To be signed by parents or to provide a confirming letter of knowing and allowing => To be signed by the administrative school (for the students of Chinese medium) => To be signed by class coordinator => to be signed by the chief of Section of Students’ Affairs => To provide copies of rental contract as well as the ID of the owners => To be signed by the leader of International Education School after examination by the chief of Section of Students’ Affairs => To complete the check-out procedures of the school dormitory (room checking, recovering facilities, etc.)
Article 4 The application of living off-campus shall be made in triplicate, with one for each of the applicant, class coordinator, and Section of Students’ Affairs
Article 5 International students who are accommodating off-campus should visit local policy station to register their residence.
Article 6 International students who are accommodating off-campus shall abide by the Chinese Laws and the school regulations to participate normal teaching and group activities; International students who are accommodating off-campus shall be aware of security and safety, he/she as well as his/her parents shall take the responsibility of his/her own for the matter of traffic, public security, criminal, personal accident, and safety of property.
Article 7 The International Education School shall file up the information of the international students who live off the campus.
Article 8 Before permitting the students to live off the campus, the coordinators shall inform the students and their parents of the related regulations of the school, the possible outcome of living off the campus and the personal responsibility of the students. The coordinators should visit and check the renting places, and dynamically supervise the students.
Article 9 To establish a step-by-step reporting system, international student residing off-campus shall report their condition to the coordinator each week. Special situation should be reported in time. The International Education School shall keep detailed records of these students.
Article 10 International student residing off-campus without permission, once found, will bear a sanction of probation and disqualification form get the scholarship of the year. The students are personally responsible for all the hazards and consequences from all aspects of economy, public security, and criminal offences.
